On November 28, Dr. Yakubu Tobor Yusuf, Executive Director of the Traditional Medicine Practice Council of Ghana, led a delegation to our hospital for an exchange visit. Fan Xiaohong, Vice President (in charge of administrative affairs) of our hospital, attended the symposium.

Fan Xiaohong extended a warm welcome to Dr. Yakubu Tobor Yusuf and his delegation. He reviewed the achievements of our hospital in the inheritance, innovation, and international cooperation of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM), with a focus on the development history, clinical advantages, and standardization and internationalization progress of our hospital’s signature technique—Pestle Needle Therapy. Fan Xiaohong noted that this visit by the Ghanaian delegation serves as an important opportunity to promote in-depth cooperation between China and Ghana in traditional medicine. He expressed hope that both sides could achieve practical progress in the promotion of Pestle Needle Therapy, talent cultivation, and scientific research cooperation.


Dr. Yakubu Tobor Yusuf stated that Ghana places high importance on the standardized development and modern integration of traditional medicine and expressed admiration for our hospital’s achievements in areas such as Pestle Needle Therapy. He mentioned that the professionalism and spirit of cooperation demonstrated by experts like Dr. Xie Yizhou during their earlier visit to Ghana further strengthened Ghana’s confidence in collaborating with our hospital. He expressed hope to draw on Sichuan’s experience in traditional medicine regulation, clinical integration, and international promotion to facilitate the implementation and application of Pestle Needle Therapy in Ghana.
Subsequently, both sides engaged in in-depth discussions on the technical aspects of Pestle Needle Therapy, training certification, and standard development. The Ghanaian delegation expressed strong willingness to jointly establish a training mechanism with our hospital and promote personnel exchanges and long-term cooperation.

Dr. Yakubu Tobor Yusuf and his delegation visited the Preventive Treatment Center and outpatient TCM pharmacy of our hospital, gaining firsthand insight into the clinical application and promotion of TCM characteristic techniques such as Pestle Needle Therapy.
This visit further enhanced mutual trust and consensus between our hospital and the Traditional Medicine Practice Council of Ghana, laying a solid foundation for future cooperation in areas such as the export of Pestle Needle Therapy technology, personnel training, and standardization collaboration. Both sides unanimously expressed their commitment to maintaining close communication and jointly promoting the integration and development of TCM and Ghanaian traditional medicine, thereby contributing to the establishment of a more inclusive and effective global traditional medicine service system.
