Brief introduction

The Department of Gynecology was founded at the beginning of the establishment of our hospital. It is among the first batch of departments authorized to award master's degree and doctor's degree in TCM gynecology, which is approved as a key discipline by the Ministry of Education, a key discipline and medical specialty of National Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine (NATCM) during the "11th Five Year Plan" and "12th Five Year Plan" period. Our department is also the regional TCM center of NATCM, the cooperation group leader for key diseases of pelvic inflammatory (the sequelae of pelvic inflammatory) and delayed menstruation (ovarian reserve function decline), inflammation group leader of Gynecology Branch of China Association of Chinese Medicine, Gynecological Disease (pelvic inflammation) Prevention and Control Center of Sichuan Province, TCM Gynecology Center of Sichuan province, and TCM gynecology specialty of national drug clinical trial institution.

We have 7 chief physicians (professors), 8 associate chief physicians (associate professors), 7 doctoral tutors and 11 master tutors, 4 tutors for inheriting the academic experience of the national famous TCM physician, 6 experts enjoying the special government allowance of the State Council, 4 academic and technical leaders and 6 candidates of Sichuan Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine, 2 academic and technical leaders and 1 expert with outstanding contribution of Health Commission of Sichuan Province, 2 national TCM clinical talents (the third batch) and 5 inheritors of academic experience of the sixth batch national famous TCM physician. Five research directions of TCM Gynecology has formed: TCM regulating female reproductive axis, prevention and treatment of gynecological inflammation by TCM, prevention and treatment of menstrual diseases by TCM, prevention and treatment of infertility by TCM, and prevention and treatment of female genital tumor by TCM.

I TCM Rectal Administration

Mechanism: The drug does not pass through the upper gastrointestinal tract, which can avoid the influence of gastric acid and enzymes on drugs, and also avoid the stimulation of drugs on gastrointestinal tract; about 50% of drugs can avoid the first-pass effect of liver and reduce its side effect on liver, making the drugs directly to the pelvic cavity, with high local drug concentration, high bioavailability and enhanced therapeutic effect.

Efficacy: Clearing heat and eliminating dampness, invigorating blood to relieve pain, dispersing concretions and dissipating binds.

Indications: Pelvic inflammatory diseases, endometriosis, adenomyosis, extrauterine pregnancy, infertility, dysmenorrhea and other gynecological diseases.

II TCM Skin penetration therapy

Mechanism: Through the continuous warming or medium frequency current, the permeability of skin is increased, and the medicinals penetrate into channels through orifices so as to increase the temperature of local pelvic tissues, promote the absorption of inflammatory products and accelerate the eliminating of inflammatory pain mediators, which reduce or dissipate adhesion, improve pelvic blood stasis, relieve pain, and enhance immune function.

Indications: Pelvic inflammatory diseases, irregular menstruation, infertility, dysmenorrhea and other gynecological diseases.

Efficacy: Clearing heat and eliminating dampness, supplementing kidney and boosting qi, warming yang for dispelling cold, promoting qi and invigorating blood, dispersing swelling to relieve pain, dispersing concretions and dissipating binds.

Indications: Pelvic inflammatory diseases, irregular menstruation, infertility, dysmenorrhea and other gynecological diseases.

2. TCM fumigation and steaming therapy

Efficacy: Soothing the sinews and unblocking the collaterals, regulating the blood vessels, dispelling wind and eliminating dampness, warming the channels and dissipating cold, eliminating dampness to relieve pain, reinforcing the healthy qi and eliminating the pathogenic factors.

Indications: Pelvic inflammatory diseases, irregular menstruation, dysmenorrhea, infertility, vulvitis and other gynecological diseases.

Efficacy: Supplementing the kidney and strengthening the spleen, warming the uterus and regulating the menstruation, boosting qi and reinforcing the healthy qi, promoting qi and invigorating blood, unblocking collaterals and relieving pain.

Indications: Pelvic inflammatory diseases, endometriosis, adenomyosis, irregular menstruation, infertility, dysmenorrhea, perimenopausal syndrome, premenstrual tension syndrome and other gynecological diseases.

III Moxibustion therapy

Mechanism: The heat produced by moxa stick stimulates acupoints or specific parts of the human body, and regulates the disordered physiological and biochemical functions of human body by stimulating the motion of qi in channels, so as to achieve the purpose of disease prevention and treatment.

Efficacy: Warming the channels and dissipating cold, unblocking collaterals and relieving pain, warming and transforming cold-dampness, regulating menstruation to promote pregnancy, promoting ovulation.

Indications: Pelvic inflammatory diseases, endometriosis, adenomyosis, irregular menstruation, infertility, dysmenorrhea and other gynecological diseases.

IV Ear acupoint therapy

Mechanism: Nerve and blood vessels are the most abundant on auricle. TCM is used to stimulate the acupoints or reaction points on the auricle to regulate the endocrine system and the function of zang-fu organs through channels, so as to achieve the purpose of disease prevention and treatment.

Efficacy: Warming the kidney and unblocking collaterals, invigorating blood to relieve pain, regulating chong-meiridian and unbloking ren-meiridian, regulating menstruation to assist pregnancy, tranquilizing the heart and calming the mind, and regulating emotion.

Indications: Pelvic inflammatory diseases, endometriosis, adenomyosis, irregular menstruation, dysmenorrhea, perimenopausal syndrome, premenstrual tension syndrome, postpartum depression, insomnia and other gynecological diseases. It can be a supplementary therapy to relieve insomnia, tension, anxiety, fear and other adverse psychological conditions during the gynecological perioperative period.

Mechanism: According to the theory of acupuncture combined with modern physics, the purpose of treating gynecological diseases can be achieved through the stimulation of acupuncture apparatus and medicine thread on acupoints.

Efficacy: Regulating zang-fu organs, freeing the channels and collaterals, harmonizing qi and blood, tonifying deficiency and reducing excess, reinforcing the healthy qi and eliminating the pathogenic factors, reducing weight and regulating menstruation.

Indications: Pelvic inflammatory diseases, irregular menstruation, polycystic ovary syndrome, infertility, dysmenorrhea.
