On November 20, the opening ceremony of the "Overseas Compatriots Traditional Chinese Medicine Academic & Cultural Exchange Program," jointly organized by the Sichuan Provincial Office of Overseas Chinese Affairs and the Sichuan Provincial Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine, and hosted by our hospital and the Sichuan Provincial Association of Traditional Chinese Medicine, took place at our institution. Nearly 20 overseas Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) practitioners from 12 countries gathered at our hospital to embark on a nine-day cultural exploration journey into TCM. Zhu Yongou, Director of the Sichuan Provincial Office of Overseas Chinese Affairs; Mi Yinjun, Deputy Director of the Sichuan Provincial Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine; and Fan Xiaohong, Vice President (in charge of administrative affairs) of our hospital, attended the ceremony and delivered remarks.

Fan Xiaohong extended a warm welcome to the overseas Chinese participants who had traveled from afar. He noted that as a National TCM Inheritance and Innovation Center and a National TCM International Cooperation Base, our hospital has been committed to the inheritance, innovation, and international exchange of TCM over the past 68 years since its establishment. Our hospital will leverage its integrated advantages in healthcare, education, and research to provide participants with the finest platform for experiencing and practicing TCM culture. Mi Yinjun highly commended our hospital’s achievements in TCM international exchanges and cooperation, particularly highlighting its pivotal role in the construction of the "Tianfu Cloud Medicine · Overseas Telemedicine Station for Overseas Chinese." He also emphasized that participants’ decision to attend the study camp in Sichuan reflects not only their recognition of TCM culture but also their trust in Sichuan’s efforts in promoting TCM. He expressed hope that the participants would gain an in-depth understanding of Sichuan’s TCM service models and innovative achievements, ensuring a fruitful and rewarding learning experience. Zhu Yongou expressed gratitude to our hospital for organizing the event. He pointed out that overseas Chinese are not only witnesses to the overseas dissemination of TCM culture but also active promoters. This study camp serves as a significant initiative to deepen services for overseas Chinese and advance the global spread of TCM. He encouraged participants to cherish this training opportunity, engage in "immersive" learning to solidify their cultural foundations, participate in "interactive" exchanges to foster collaborative efforts in dissemination, and embrace "regularized" inheritance to expand development pathways, making TCM an important bridge for enhancing mutual understanding and promoting shared health between China and other countries.

During the upcoming itinerary, our hospital will organize participants to systematically study characteristic TCM techniques such as pestle needle therapy, acupuncture, and Tuina (therapeutic massage), engage in clinical apprenticeship practices, visit TCM museums, and participate in enriching activities such as herbal medicine identification and traditional exercise experiences. Our hospital’s team of experts will be fully involved in teaching and guidance, facilitating in-depth exchanges with overseas peers. As a National TCM International Cooperation Base, our hospital will continue to advance the Belt and Road Initiative in TCM, deepen collaboration and communication with overseas Chinese communities, and contribute more significantly to the global promotion of TCM and the enhancement of human health and well-being.
