On December 14, our hospital successfully hosted a popular science lecture titled "Common Misconceptions About Winter Wellness and Healthcare" through the "Tianfu Cloud Medicine · Overseas Telemedicine Station (Greece)." The event featured Dr. Yang Lijie, Deputy Chief Physician of the TCM Preventive Center at our hospital, who delivered an in-depth yet accessible presentation on traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) wellness knowledge tailored to daily life for overseas Chinese in Greece via remote connection.

During the lecture, Dr. Yang drew on the TCM theory of "harmony between humans and nature" to systematically explain the relationship between winter climate characteristics and the human body, as well as the TCM perspective on the inward storage of yang energy and dry weather in winter. She also provided a detailed analysis of common wellness misconceptions among overseas Chinese, such as blind supplementation, improper exercise, inappropriate clothing, and insufficient sleep. Dr. Yang emphasized that winter wellness should focus on "preserving yang energy," avoiding behaviors like excessive consumption of spicy foods, intense exercise at night, and wearing insufficient clothing. She also recommended practical wellness methods, including consuming warm and moist foods, engaging in moderate exercise, acupressure, and foot baths to aid sleep. During the interactive session, overseas Chinese in Greece actively participated, raising questions about local climate characteristics, dietary habits, and the timing of health supplement intake. Dr. Yang patiently addressed these questions and provided personalized health advice tailored to the dietary and climatic conditions in Greece. Her professional and approachable presentation style was highly praised by the attending overseas Chinese. They expressed that the lecture content was practical and easy to understand, not only clarifying many daily wellness doubts but also allowing them to appreciate the wisdom of traditional Chinese medicine and the care from their homeland.
