[Scene, Monica and Rachel's, Monica and Ross are pouring wine for their parents.]

Mrs. Geller: Oh, Martha Ludwin's daughter is gonna call you. (Tastes a snack) Mmm! What's that curry taste?

Monica: Curry.

Mrs. Geller: Mmmm!

Ross: I- I think they're great! I, I really do.

Mr. Geller: (To Ross) Do you remember the Ludwins? The big one had a thing(有好感) for you, didn't she?

Mrs. Geller: They all had a thing for him.

Ross: Aw, Mom...

Monica: I'm sorry, why is this girl going to call me?

Mrs. Geller: Oh, she just graduated, and she wants to be something in cooking, or food, or.... I don't know. Anyway, I told her you had a restaurant-

Monica: No Mom, I don't have a restaurant, I work in a restaurant.

Mrs. Geller: Well, they don't have to know that... (She starts to fluff the same pillow Monica fluffed multiple times earlier.)

Monica: Ross, could you come and help me with the spaghetti(意大利细面条), please?

Ross: Yeah. (They go to the kitchen.)

Mrs. Geller: Oh, we're having spaghetti! That's.... easy.

Monica: I know this is going to sound unbelievably selfish(自私的,利己主义), but, were you planning on bringing up the whole baby/lesbian thing? Because I think it might take some of the heat off(停止指责/批评某人) me.

[Time Lapse, everyone is now eating.]

Mrs. Geller: What that Rachel did to her life.... We ran into her parents at the club, they were not playing very well.

Mr. Geller: I'm not gonna tell you what they spent on that wedding... but forty thousand dollars is a lot of money!

Mrs. Geller: Well, at least she had the chance to leave a man at the altar(圣坛;祭坛)...

Monica: What's that supposed to mean?

Mrs. Geller: Nothing! It's an expression.

Monica: No it's not.

Mr. Geller: Don't listen to your mother. You're independent, and you always have been! Even when you were a kid... and you were chubby(胖乎乎的;圆胖的;丰满的), and you had no friends, you were just fine! And you would read alone in your room, and your puzzles(拼图)...

(2-6)

[Time Lapse.]

Mr. Geller: Look, there are people like Ross who need to shoot for the stars(追求卓越;设立远大目标), with his museum, and his papers getting published. Other people are satisfied with staying where they are- I'm telling you, these are the people who never get cancer.

[Time Lapse.]

Mr. Geller: ...And I read about these women trying to have it all, and I thank God 'Our Little Harmonica' doesn't seem to have that problem.

Monica: (trying desperately 拼命地 to change the subject) So, Ross, what's going on with you? Any stories? (Digs her elbow into his hand.) No news, no little anecdotes(轶事;奇闻;秘史) to share with the folks?

Ross: (pulls his hand away) Okay! Okay. (To his parents) Look, I, uh- I realise you guys have been wondering what exactly happened between Carol and me, and, so, well, here's the deal(是这样的). Carol's a lesbian. She's living with a woman named Susan. She's pregnant with my child, and she and Susan are going to raise the baby(抚养孩子).

(Stunned silence ensues.)

Mrs. Geller: (To Monica) And you knew about this?!

Commercial Break

[Scene: Central Park, everyone's there.]

Joey: Your folks are really that bad, huh?

Ross: Well, y'know, these people are pros. They know what they're doing, they take their time, they get the job done.

Monica: Boy, I know they say you can't change your parents,... boy, if you could- (To Ross) -I'd want yours.

Ross: Must pee. (Goes to pee.)

Phoebe: Y'know, it's even worse when you're twins.

Rachel: You're twins?

Phoebe: Yeah. We don't speak. She's like this high-powered(精力旺盛的), driven(奋发努力的;发愤图强的) career type.

Chandler: What does she do?

Phoebe: She's a waitress.

Peak travel expected during Dragon Boat

Updated June 23, 2020

The domestic tourism market is expected to peak during the coming Dragon Boat Festival holiday later this week, despite recent reported clusters of new COVID-19 infections in parts of the country, industry observers said.

业内观察人士表示,尽管最近报道了国内部分地区出现新冠肺炎感染集群病例,国内旅游市场预计将在本周晚些时候的端午节假期达到高峰。

The forecast travel boom for the three-day holiday starting Thursday is possible because the COVID-19 epidemic is well controlled in most parts of the mainland, according to a report by the Meituan Research Institute, which is set up by Meituan-Dianping, an on-demand services platform in Beijing.

美团点评网旗下美团研究院发布的一份报告显示,由于新冠肺炎疫情在大陆大部分地区得到了很好的控制,预计从周四开始,为期三天的假期旅游热潮可能出现。

So far, 91 percent of all tourist attractions have resumed operation. Driven by the government's policy of encouraging spending, tourist attractions across the country are expected to see an increase of 226 percent in tourist spending compared with before the holiday, according to the institute.

截至目前,91%的旅游景点已恢复运营。该研究所称,受政府鼓励消费政策的推动,全国旅游景点的旅游支出预计将比节前增长226%。

Ten provincial regions, including Chongqing municipality and Sichuan, Qinghai and Hainan provinces, are estimated to see the strongest recovery in tourism, while Beijing, a main tourist destination, will see a drop in local tourism due to new clusters of COVID-19 infections that have been reported since June 11.

据估计,重庆市、四川、青海、海南等10省市的旅游业复苏最为强劲,而作为主要旅游目的地的北京,由于6月11日以来报告的新冠肺炎集群感染,当地旅游业将出现下降。
