In 1840, the corrupt Qing government lost the Opium War waged by Britain,

The Party fought for 28 years striving to “restore the soul”

of the country with independence and unity

and to give the people back their dignity.

中国共产党解决了土地分配不平等的问题

The CPC tackled the unequal distribution of land ownership.

在1930年的江西农村

Back in 1930, in rural areas of Jiangxi province,

只占农民人口3.4%的大小地主

The landowners who made up 3.4% of the rural population

拥有的土地是其余所有农民拥有土地的总和

owned more land than all the rest of the farmers combined.

据统计

According to statistics,

1949年中国近90%的国民

nearly 90% of Chinese people in 1949

都是乡村人口

were considered rural populations.

共产党于是发起了土地革命

Therefore the CPC launched a land reform the campaign

让“耕者有其田”

That championed “land to the tiller”.

到1952年底

By the end of 1952,

占全国耕地面积46.5%的土地被重新分配

46.5% of the country’s arable land had been turned

约3亿中国农民通过土改获得了土地

over to 300 million Chinese peasants through the reform.
